NZ Birds

These bird images were taken over the extent of my trip on both the North and South Islands. Many were taken during my week as a conservation volunteer on an island off the east coast of Auckland called Tiritiri Matangi. Here the indigenous birds of New Zealand are protected, and thrive as a result. I would trudge with my heavy camera gear up and down the steep tracks in hot weather whenever my services to conservation allowed to capture the birds in their natural habitat. Easier said than done sometimes as they flit through the trees with the greatest of ease. Those taken on Tiri are referenced as TTM.
