Your photography tutor is an award-winning professional wildlife, landscape and environmental photographer with a first class degree in Wildlife Photography, an MA in Wildlife Documentary Production and a PTTL's teaching qualification, as well as many years in a managerial and team leading role. Beginners Creative Wildlife, Nature & Landscape Photography

This one day course will help you to get familiar with your DSLR in the field as well as provide you with the classroom basics for you to capture thought-provoking images of nature and the environment. We will spend the morning learning the fundamentals of creative photography with examples of what works and what to consider. Weather permitting, we will then take a trip to Greenwich Park where you can put into practice what you have learnt with individual tutoring time. Then back in the class-room we can look at the images you have produced for discussion. The course will cover the use of depths-of-field, the use of natural light and the tools and techniques for creating images with impact. This is not a technically driven course but will help you develop an eye and feel for what you would like to photograph.

Beyond the Beginner: Creative Wildlife, Nature & Landscape Photography

This two-day course, for those already familiar with DSLR photography, will help you to develop the creative skills necessary to extend your abilities and take thought provoking images of nature and the environment. Through the exploration of different photographic techniques, the use of practical exercises, and by looking at the work of influential photographers and artists, you will be encouraged and supported in creating your own projects whilst developing your own conceptual and visual style. Further guidance and individual help will be given on using appropriate depths of field, use of light and other techniques to help inform your photography. This is not a technically driven course but will help you develop an eye and feel for what you would like to photograph.

Creative Wildlife, Nature & Landscape Photography: A Ten Week Course

A twelve session, ten week evening class including two sessions in the field. This course is designed for students who would like to learn about the skills necessary to take stunning and thought provoking images of nature, the environment and the issues affecting it. It will take the student on a photographic journey into the creative and interpretive methods that can be applied when making images with impact.

An SLR camera is essential for this course.

This course will:

• Help students find creative and interpretive ways to photograph nature, the environment and the issues affecting it;
• It will look at the work of other photographers and artists to help understand the concepts and principles applied to making nature and environmental photography with impact and applying this in developing a personal style;
• It will help students to develop better understanding of their equipment and how it can be used to best effect; (although it should be stressed that this is not a technically driven course and Photoshop will not be taught on this course).
Students will be encouraged to do research and keep a learning journal/scrap book and bring images for discussion – either their own or some they have found by other photographic artists. The scrap-book/log book can be utilised for further research throughout the course and after the course has ended.
Outcomes: Students will develop their creative and interpretive skills and apply them to their own photography helping them to develop their own personal styles.

Next course commences: Tuesday 2nd October to 11th December 6.30pm to 9pm (break for half term 30th Oct). Field trips in local area: Saturdays 20th October & 3rd Nov 9.30am to 12pm.

Finding Your Voice & Vision: Creative Photography

Developing photographic skills and creativity whilst enhancing confidence & self-esteem
.Freedom to express our intuitive, creative and emotional sides, whilst balancing these with practical action, can be powerful forces in developing and sustaining our self-esteem. This one-day course will use photography as a way to develop self-awareness, which is an important factor in developing and sustaining self-esteem. This course will give you tips and guidance for finding your artistic voice to help put you on your own personal photographic road less travelled. You will learn how to observe the world around you with new eyes whilst exploring the practical aspects of image making. This course is suitable for beginners and more advanced photographers.

Creative Photography for Team-building and Self-development

These courses can be run over one or more days, designed for company or organisation employees seeking innovative ways to encourage personal growth and team-building. Students will enjoy this practical creative photography workshop whilst focusing on a specific photographic project or a bespoke course can be arranged in accordance with requirements.

One-to-One Photography Tutorials & Mentoring for your Photography Business

One-to-one tutorials can be arranged to assist you in your photography at a time to suit you. Small groups can also be catered for at venues to be agreed. You will see your confidence in your photography increase in these concentrated sessions.

Creative Digital Wildlife & Landscape Photography In Cumbria

Photography for all abilities in the Walney and Barrow areas of South Cumbria. We will look at two contrasting areas: the well manicured surroundings of Barrow Park and the nature reserve in the industrial surrounds of Saltpool and Cavendish Docks.
